Very important is a road loss of third ranked Niigata Albirex (13-12) against eighth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (8-19) on Saturday night. Visiting Niigata Albirex was defeated by Miyazaki Shining Suns in a tough game in Miyazaki 62-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Elijah Palmer (201-81, college: Duquesne, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who added 16 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Yuichi Ikeda (191-83) scored 16 points. Niigata Albirex's coach Masaya Hirose rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Miyazaki Shining Suns maintains eighth position with 8-19 record. Niigata Albirex at the other side keeps the third place with 12 games lost. Miyazaki Shining Suns will again play against higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
