Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Monte Hermoso (6-7) and Estudiantes (4-7), which took place in Bahia Blanca. Higher ranked Monte Hermoso lost to fifteenth ranked Estudiantes in a road game 93-97 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Monte Hermoso. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-24. But Monte Hermoso won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by naturalized Spanish guard Pepe Sanchez (193-77, college: Temple) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 assists and American forward Edward Nelson (203-82, college: Connecticut, agency: Dream Team Management) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) by American power forward Byron Johnson (201-80, college: Belm.Abbey, agency: Dream Team Management) did not help to save the game for Monte Hermoso. His fellow American import swingman Albert White (197-77, college: Missouri, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 16 points and 4 assists. Five Estudiantes and four Monte Hermoso players scored in double figures. Estudiantes moved-up to fourteenth place. Newly promoted Monte Hermoso dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Regatas C.. Estudiantes will meet higher ranked Atenas (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Monte Hermoso will play against Club 9 (#9) in Rio Tercero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
