Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Okinawa GK (17-11) defeated on the road 6th ranked Akita Happinets (9-19) 83-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 45-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Anthony McHenry (201-83, college: Georgia Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Carlos Dixon (202-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Strategic Sports) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Nigerian forward Ayodokun Akingbade (207-84, college: George Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Okinawa GK. They moved-up to third place. Akita Happinets lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. Okinawa GK will face league's second-placed Sendai 89ers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akita Happinets will play against Takamatsu FA (#9).
