Very expected game in Mahon where 17th ranked Menorca Basquet (5-14) was defeated by eighth ranked DKV Joventut (11-8) 87-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by DKV Joventut. Menorca Basquet was better in fourth quarter 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DKV Joventut made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Menorca Basquet was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Quinton Hosley (198-84, college: Fresno St.) fired 14 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import center Will McDonald (206-79, college: S.Florida) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four DKV Joventut players scored in double figures. Israeli guard Raviv Limonad (192-84) produced 16 points and American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Menorca Basquet's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. DKV Joventut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bizkaia Bilbao and Fuenlabrada. Newly promoted Menorca Basquet keeps the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. DKV Joventut will face Asefa Estudiantes (#13) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Menorca Basquet will play on the road against Lagun Aro GBC (#14) in San Sebastian.
