LigaA top team - Lanus (9-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Libertad Sunchales (7-5) in Buenos Aires 87-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Libertad Sunchales. The game was mostly controlled by Lanus. Libertad Sunchales managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Dream Team Management) who led his team to a victory with 12 points. Panamanian power forward Jamaal Levy (206-83, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 14 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Lanus' coach Silvio Jose Santander used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: Dream Team Management) replied with 21 points and his fellow American import center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Libertad Sunchales. Four Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. Lanus maintains first position with 9-3 record. Libertad Sunchales at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Gimnasia CR. Lanus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Obras.
