Regular Season Round 16: Maccabi Rishon - Hapoel J-M 83-80

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Premier League took place in Rishon Le-Zion. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Hapoel J-M (10-6) to sixth ranked Maccabi Rishon (8-7) 83-80 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel J-M. Hapoel J-M trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 18-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-83 at the end of the game. Maccabi Rishon had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Dwayne Mitchell (194-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Aaron McGhee (202-79, college: Oklahoma) who added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Dion Dowell (198-85, college: Houston) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jason Rich (191-86) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Maccabi Rishon and four Hapoel J-M players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Hapoel J-M at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Maccabi Rishon are looking forward to face Maccabi Haifa (#9) at home in the next round. Hapoel J-M will play against Hapoel Holon (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
