Very expected game when 9th ranked Tuscany Pistoia (8-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Sigma Barcellona (12-6) 91-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sigma Barcellona. Tuscany Pistoia was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sigma Barcellona made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Joseph Crispin (186-79, college: Penn St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 24 points and 8 assists. Panamanian guard Michael Hicks (193-76, college: Texas A&M - C.C.) chipped in 20 points. Sigma Barcellona's coach Cesare Pancotto allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tuscany Pistoia lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Sigma Barcellona will face Prima Veroli (#7) on the road in the next round. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Snaidero Udine.
