It was a great shooting night for Maccabi T-A especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Bnei Hasharon's players. The winners were led by Greek center Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-85) who scored that evening 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Doron Perkins (188-83, college: Santa Clara) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 8 points and 4 assists by Puerto Rican guard Filiberto Rivera (187-82, college: UTEP) did not help to save the game for Bnei Hasharon. American forward Lee Nailon (204-75, college: TCU) added 10 points for lost side. Maccabi T-A have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi T-A will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Bnei Hasharon will play against Galil Gilboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
