Second Stage Round 1: Keflavik - KR 79-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Keflavik. Second ranked Keflavik faced 3rd placed KR. Host Keflavik (12-3) defeated guests from Reykjavik (9-6) 79-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KR. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KR won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to KR's 26 and made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Jacquline Adamshick (183-84, college: Villanova) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Forward Eva Guamundsdottir (172-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Margret Sturludottir (178-89) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Chazny Morris (178, college: UMKC) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for KR. Keflavik maintains second place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Hamar. Defending champion KR keeps the third position with six games lost. Keflavik will play against Haukar (#5) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. KR will play at home against the league's leader Hamar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
