The game in Miyazaki was also quite interesting. Third ranked Niigata Albirex (14-12) played at the court of 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (8-20). Niigata Albirex managed to secure a 6-point victory 75-69 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Miyazaki Shining Suns won fourth quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata Albirex dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Miyazaki Shining Suns' 24. American power forward Zachary Andrews (203-85, college: Bradley) stepped up and scored 8 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Niigata Albirex's coach Masaya Hirose used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Elijah Palmer (201-81, college: Duquesne, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Miyazaki Shining Suns players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex maintains third place with 14-12 record having fourteen points less than leader Shiga Lakestars. Loser Miyazaki Shining Suns keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face Takamatsu FA (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play against Oita Heat Devils and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
