Rather expected game when 9th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (4-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Hapoel Holon (7-9) 89-78. It looked good early as Ironi Ashkelon took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Holon had a 16-13 second period charge getting the lead and Ironi Ashkelon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-89. Hapoel Holon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Ashkelon's 34. It was a very good performance for power forward Nir Cohen (202-81, college: San Diego, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Dror Hagag (178-78, agency: Avi Zilberman) replied with 13 points and 7 assists and guard Gur Porat (197-79) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Holon maintains seventh position with 7-9 record. Ironi Ashkelon lost third consecutive game.
