Regular Season Round 21: Melilla - Lobe Huesca 85-84

Sixteenth-ranked Lobe Huesca (6-15) was very close to win a game against ninth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (11-10) on Friday. Melilla Baloncesto managed to secure only one-point victory 85-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) nailed 23 points and 6 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and power forward Miguel Montanana (206-80) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Gonzalo Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Stevie Johnson (198-78, college: Iowa St.) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) added 17 points respectively for Lobe Huesca in the defeat. Four Melilla Baloncesto and five Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to sixth place, which they share with La Laguna and Lleida. Newly promoted Lobe Huesca keeps the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Palencia. Melilla Baloncesto will meet league's second-placed CB Murcia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lobe Huesca will play against Caceres 2016 (#5) and hope to secure a win.
