Not a big story in a game in Athens where 11th ranked Olympiakos (2-12) was rolled over by second ranked Esperides (10-4) 70-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Esperides. Olympiakos managed to win fourth quarter 17-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Esperides dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Olympiakos' 28. They outrebounded Olympiakos 44-31 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian center Lidia Milkova (192-70) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. American center Tiffani Ducker (188-86, college: Oregon St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Esperides' coach Stavros Nanakos used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Asimina Koutsounouri (190) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Aristea Maglara (168-83) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Esperides maintains second position with 10-4 record having four points less than leader Athinaikos, which they share with DAS Ano Liosa. Olympiakos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Esperides will meet at home league's leader Athinaikos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Olympiakos will play against FEA Neas (#8) in Halkidon and hope to secure a win.
