Regular Season Round 15: UCD Marian - DCU Saints 76-83

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Dublin: DCU Saints (#2) and UCD Marian (#3). UCD Marian was defeated at home 76-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. DCU Saints forced 23 UCD Marian turnovers and outrebounded them 54-22 including a 27-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Patrick Crean (193, college: Springfield) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Guard James Donnelly (191-84) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five DCU Saints players scored in double figures. American forward James Crowder (201-86, college: Pfeiffer, agency: Agency No 10) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Conor Meany (185-86) added 16 points in the effort for UCD Marian. UCD Marian's coach Fran Ryan rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. DCU Saints maintains second place with 8-7 record having three points less than leader UL Eagles. UCD Marian at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. DCU Saints are looking forward to face Moycullen (#4) at home in the next round. UCD Marian will play against Belfast Star and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
