The game in Tochigi was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Toshiba Thunders (13-14) played at the court of sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (10-17). Tochigi Brex managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81. Toshiba Thunders were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Tochigi Brex made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Scott Merritt (208-82, college: Marquette) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import power forward Cory Violette (203-82, college: Gonzaga) added 8 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 10-17 record. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the fourth position with 14 games lost. Tochigi Brex's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
