Rather expected game when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (8-21) was rolled over on the road by sixth ranked Akita Happinets (10-19) 80-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Akita Happinets outrebounded Takamatsu FA 49-34 including a 41-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Ayodokun Akingbade (207-84, college: George Washington) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 21 rebounds. American forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach Robert Pierce felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Rasheed Sparks (190-77, college: Morgan St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jefferey Price (203-85, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Akita Happinets maintains sixth position with 10-19 record. Loser Takamatsu FA dropped to the eighth place with 21 games lost. Akita Happinets will face again Takamatsu FA (#8) at home in the next round.
