Regular Season Round 18: Ammerud Bskt - Kristiansand 95-75

Date: February 5, 2011
Bottom-ranked Ammerud managed to get a third victory, breaking the nine-game losing streak. This time they outleveled sixth-ranked Kristiansand 95-75. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that Ammerud was well-prepared to that game. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Roy Nwachukwu (192-90) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Kenyan guard Michael Molvaer (190-90) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Ammerud players scored in double figures. Ammerud's coach Ulf Landstrom allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Antonio Russell (183-84, college: W.Carolina) with 31 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Ammerud maintains eighth position with 3-13 record. Kristiansand lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Gimle. Ammerud will play against higher ranked Gimle (#6) in Bergen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kristiansand will play at home against Ulriken in Bergen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
