Regular Season Round 20: LKS Lodz - Tychy 73-69
Date: February 5, 2011
Not a big story in a game in Lodz where 13th ranked GKS Tychy (5-12) was defeated by seventh ranked LKS Sphinx (12-8) 73-69 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But GKS Tychy won third quarter 17-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Krzysztof Morawiec (192-74) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) who added 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four LKS Sphinx players scored in double figures. Guard Jacek Jarecki (197-88) responded with 19 points and the former international guard Dawid Witos (190-83, agency: Promotex) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. LKS Sphinx maintains seventh position with 12-8 record. Loser GKS Tychy keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. LKS Sphinx will face Gornik (#14) in Walbrzych in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GKS Tychy will play at home against AZS Szczecin.
