Regular Season Round 14: Zabok - Kvarner 2010 73-70

The most exciting game of round 14 in the A1 took place in Zabok. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Kvarner 2010 (7-7) to fifth ranked Zabok (7-7) 73-70 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kvarner 2010. Kvarner 2010 was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-18 charge of Zabok, which allowed them to win the game. They made 34-of-43 free shots (79.1 percent) during the game, while Kvarner 2010 only scored twelve points from the stripe. 30 personal fouls committed by Kvarner 2010 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Robert Lez (200-79) who scored 28 points (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Filip Kraljevic (214-89) chipped in 19 points. Guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and center Matija Poscic (207-85, college: De Paul) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zabok moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kvarner 2010. Zabok is looking forward to face higher ranked Borik Puntamika (#3) in Zadar in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kvarner 2010 will play at home against Svjetlost in Slavonski Brod and is hoping to win this game.
