Important game to mention about took place in Szczecin. Tenth ranked AZS Szczecin (8-12) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (13-7) 74-72 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Karol Pytys (202-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Lukasz Pacocha (182-82, agency: Promotex) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Swingman Marek Piechowicz (203-88) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and center Piotr Zielinski (198-83) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted AZS Szczecin maintains tenth position with 8-12 record. Loser MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. AZS Szczecin will face higher ranked Asecco Prokom 2 (#5) in Gdynia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
