Regular Season Round 19: Prat Juventud - Coruna 70-69

A very close game took place in Prat between Prat Juventud and Leyma Basquet. Seventh ranked Prat Juventud (9-9) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Leyma Basquet (6-12). Prat Juventud managed to escape with a 1-point win 70-69 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-9. But Leyma Basquet won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prat Juventud made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Leyma Basquet turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Albert Ventura (196-92) who led the winners and scored 17 points. Power forward Jordi Llorens (202-73) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Prat Juventud players scored in double figures. Center Victor Hidalgo (204-86) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Kyle Ohman (193, college: Liberty) added 14 points respectively for Leyma Basquet in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Prat Juventud have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 9-9 record. Loser Leyma Basquet dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Santurtzi and Lan Mobel ISB. Prat Juventud will meet Santurtzi (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Leyma Basquet will play against CB Illescas and hope to secure a win.
