Regular Season Round 21: Souffel - Denek 77-71

An interesting game took place in Souffel. where higher ranked Denek (11-10) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Souffelweyersheim (10-11) 77-71 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Denek. Denek trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 18-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-77 at the end of the game. Souffelweyersheim looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized Cameroonian forward Alexandre N'Kembe (193-79) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Jeremy Tschamber (192-84) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. Souffelweyersheim's coach Stephane Eberlin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Larry Blair (183-84, college: Liberty, agency: JEMsports) with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Cedric Mansare (196-85) scored 14 points. Souffelweyersheim moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Challans. Loser Denek keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face higher ranked Blois (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
