Bottom-ranked Kings managed to get a fourth victory on Saturday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Adelaide 36ers in Sydney 99-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Adelaide 36ers won third quarter 31-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Kings won last quarter 26-18. They made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Adelaide 36ers only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 43-21 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Julian Khazzouh (211-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and guard Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta St.) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Jacob Holmes (201-83) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international guard Aaron Bruce (191-84) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kings maintains ninth place with 4-15 record. Adelaide 36ers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Kings will meet at home league's second-placed Perth Wildcats in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adelaide 36ers will play against Gold Coast Blaze (#6) in Broadbeach and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
