Date: February 5, 2011
Very expected game when 8th ranked Super-Pol (9-12) lost on the road to second ranked CCC Polkowice (18-2) 62-53 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when CCC Polkowice made 9 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Kalana Greene (178-87, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Agnieszka Majewska (195-82) contributed with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American forward Joy Cheek (185-88, college: Duke) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Joanna Czarnecka (192-82, agency: Data Plus Group) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Super-Pol. CCC Polkowice have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Wisla Can-Pak. Super-Pol at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. CCC Polkowice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Super-Pol will play at home against Lider Pruszkow (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
