Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Riga: TTT Riga (#1) and TTT Kadetes (#5). TTT Riga (18-0) smashed visiting TTT Kadetes (8-11) by 36 points 88-52. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 33-of-43 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while TTT Kadetes only scored twelve points from the stripe. TTT Riga forced 20 TTT Kadetes turnovers and outrebounded them 58-38 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international guard Anda Eibele (170-84) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and international forward Dita Krumberga (183-84, college: Mt.St.Marys) supported her with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by guard Asnate-Marianna Fomina (168-94) did not help to save the game for TTT Kadetes. Center Ruta Veidere (188-94) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. TTT Kadetes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. TTT Riga have an impressive 18-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-0 record. TTT Kadetes lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. TTT Riga will meet Daugavpils Universitate (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TTT Kadetes will play against RTU-Merks in Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
