Regular Season Round 14: Panionios - FEA Neas 47-57

There was a small surprise in Athens where eighth ranked FEA Neas (7-7) defeated 6th ranked Panionios (8-6) 57-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by FEA Neas. Panionios managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FEA Neas forced 19 Panionios turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Evina Stamati (180-84) who scored 17 points. The former international guard Tania Halivera (178-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian forward Mirna Mazic (188-85, college: Richmond) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 20 rebounds and swingman Vaso Tremkatzi (180-87) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. FEA Neas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Apollon. Loser Panionios keeps the sixth position with six games lost. FEA Neas will meet at home Olympiakos (#11) in the next round. Panionios will play against Apollon (#7) in Ptolemaida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
