The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Obradoiro CAB as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Obradoiro CAB defeated 5th ranked Caceres 2016 in Santoago de Comp 85-75. The game was mostly controlled by Obradoiro CAB. Caceres 2016 managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Obradoiro CAB made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Caceres 2016 turnovers. It was a good game for naturalized American forward Bernard Hopkins (200-73, college: Va Commonwealth) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 16 points and 4 steals for the winners. The former international forward Francisco Sanchez (202-79) answered with 25 points and American forward Ryan Humphrey (203-79, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Caceres 2016. Four Obradoiro CAB and five Caceres 2016 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with CB Murcia. Caceres 2016 at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Caceres 2016 will play next round against Lobe Huesca trying to get back on the winning streak. Obradoiro CAB will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra in Pamplona.
