Very predictable result when second ranked KTP-Basket (23-9) rolled over on the road 10th ranked Salon Vilpas (11-21) 93-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by KTP-Basket. Salon Vilpas was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTP-Basket forced 20 Salon Vilpas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 7 assists. Guard Mikael Holme (192-79) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American forward Nicchaeus Doaks (202-87, college: Chattanooga, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Samu Kaaresvirta (192-81) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Salon Vilpas. Five KTP-Basket and four Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas' coach Kimmo Vyyrylainen rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. KTP-Basket maintains second position with 23-9 record having four points less than leader Pyrinto. Loser Salon Vilpas keeps the tenth place with 21 games lost. KTP-Basket will face Espoo Honka (#5) at home in the next round. Salon Vilpas will play against LrNMKY (#11) in Lappeenranta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
