Regular Season Round 17: BC Nokia - Huima 105-107 OT

Aanekosken Huima (9-8) outlasted BC Nokia (9-8) in overtime by two points 107-105 on Sunday night. The game took place in Nokia. But the guests from Aanekoski were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Nokia won fourth quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where BC Nokia used huge pressure winning it 24-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-13. It was a great shooting night for Aanekosken Huima especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Bahamas forward Jamal Douglas (201-85, college: E.Kentucky) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Treylon Manning (178, college: Texas Coll.) chipped in 24 points and 9 assists. Guard Timo Riihela (193-80) responded with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Osku Heinonen (194-92) scored 26 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Aanekosken Huima moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated BC Nokia. Aanekosken Huima is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lahden NMKY (#12) in Lahti in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Nokia will play on the road against Saynatsalon Riento (#8) in Jyvaskyla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
