Very expected game when 15th ranked Meridiano Alicante (6-14) lost at home to tenth ranked Cajasol (10-10) 77-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Cajasol. Meridiano Alicante was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cajasol dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Meridiano Alicante's 28. They outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 38-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. American guard Louis Bullock (185-76, college: Michigan) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import center Paul Davis (211-84, college: Michigan St.) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and Croatian-German swingman Mario Stojic (198-80, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Meridiano Alicante. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cajasol have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Unicaja and Gran Canaria. Loser Meridiano Alicante keeps the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Cajasol will face Unicaja Malaga (#11) at home in the next round.
