The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Umana Venezia (15-4) on the court of sixth ranked Sunrise Scafati on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Sunrise Scafati 78-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Umana Venezia. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-22. But Umana Venezia won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sunrise Scafati won last quarter 21-22. They also forced 19 Umana Venezia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Nikola Radulovic (207-73) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Jimmie Hunter (196-77, college: Life) contributed with 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Sunrise Scafati players scored in double figures. American forward Tamar Slay (204-80, college: Marshall) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Kiki Clark (173-84, college: St.Peter's) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Umana Venezia. Sunrise Scafati have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Immobiliare SR and Barcellona. Umana Venezia at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Sunrise Scafati is looking forward to face bottom-ranked MarcoPoloShop.it (#16) in Forli in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Umana Venezia will play at home against the league's second-placed Fastweb CM (#2) in Casale and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
