There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Mazzeo San Severo (5-14) beat 12th ranked Assigeco BPL (7-12) in Lodi 67-61 on Sunday. Mazzeo San Severo made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for American forward Kaniel Dickens (203-78, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Fabio Zanelli (196-76) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American-British center Peter Ezugwu (203-76, college: E.Michigan, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Assigeco BPL. Assigeco BPL's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Mazzeo San Severo maintains fifteenth place with 5-14 record. Loser Assigeco BPL keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Mazzeo San Severo will face higher ranked Snaidero Udine (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
