Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tallinn: TTU/Kalev (#3) and TTU/Kalev II (#7). TTU/Kalev (15-5) won against visiting TTU/Kalev II (8-14) 108-104. The hosts were ahead by 12 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 23-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. TTU/Kalev forced 20 TTU/Kalev II turnovers. Strangely TTU/Kalev II outrebounded TTU/Kalev 40-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. TTU/Kalev II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. The former international guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Forward Kiur Akenparg (190-88) responded with 28 points and American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TTU/Kalev have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-5 record having seven points less than leader TU/Rock. TTU/Kalev II at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They will play against BC Rakvere (#4) on the road in the next round. TTU/Kalev II's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn Kalev/Cramo.
