Rather predictable result when fourteenth ranked Lagun Aro GBC (8-12) won against 17th ranked Menorca Basquet (5-15) in San Sebastian 77-72 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Menorca Basquet won third quarter 20-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lagun Aro GBC made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Menorca Basquet was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. Guard Ricardo Uriz (189-80) contributed with 5 points and 13 assists for the winners.
