Regular Season Round 31: Fukuoka Rizing - Osaka Evessa 72-84

An interesting game for Osaka Evessa (19-11) which played road game in Fukuoka against 3rd placed Fukuoka Rizing (18-14). Second ranked Osaka Evessa managed to get a 12-point victory 84-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. Fukuoka Rizing was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Osaka Evessa made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Fukuoka Rizing only scored eleven points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Osaka Evessa made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for forward Lawrence Blackledge (203-86, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Michael Parker (200-81, college: Evergreen St.) answered with 23 points and forward Jartavious Henderson (203-87, college: Memphis) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Four Osaka Evessa and five Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Shiga Lakestars. Loser Fukuoka Rizing dropped to the fourth place with 14 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Niigata Albirex (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Toyama Grouses.
