The game in Fjolnir was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Njardvik (6-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Fjolnir (3-13). Njardvik managed to secure a 9-point victory 88-79 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 58-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by Latvian forward Dita Liepkalne (185-87, college: Hawaii) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American guard Shayla Fields (175-87, college: N.Carolina St., agency: 540 Sports) supported her with 17 points and 6 assists. Njardvik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by Latvian center Inga Buzoka (191-81, college: Missouri Western) did not help to save the game for Fjolnir. American guard Natasha Harris (177-86, college: Boise St.) added 14 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Njardvik moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Haukar. Newly promoted Fjolnir keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Grindavik. Njardvik will meet higher ranked Snaefell (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fjolnir will play against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
