There was no surprise when 6th ranked Svit (11-17) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Komarno (16-12) 97-76. The game without a history. Komarno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Komarno outrebounded Svit 36-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Komarno especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Svit's players. It was a very good performance for Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Latvian forward Martins Berkis (199-85, agency: Warren Sports International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Komarno's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Vincent Polakovic (203-84, college: USF) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian guard Petar Cosic (186-85, agency: Interperformances) added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for Svit. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Komarno moved-up to third place. Svit lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Vahostav-Zilina. Komarno will play against bottom-ranked Inter Bratislava (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Svit will play against Prievidza (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
