Very predictable result when tenth ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (10-11) rolled over 15th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (6-14) in Hangzhou 136-109 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Cyclones. Shanxi Zhongyu was better in fourth quarter 40-34. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Cyclones dominated down low during the game scoring 94 of its points in the paint compared to Shanxi Zhongyu's 50. They outrebounded Shanxi Zhongyu 58-36 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zhejiang Cyclones looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Shanxi Zhongyu's players. Shanxi Zhongyu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: ZAG Advocates) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. International center Jinhui Ding (204-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Leon Rodgers (199-80, college: N.Illinois) replied with 31 points and forward JiangPeng Duan (197-90) added 25 points in the effort for Shanxi Zhongyu. Five Zhejiang Cyclones and four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Cyclones moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Liaoning. Shanxi Zhongyu lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Zhejiang Cyclones will face bottom-ranked TianJin Rongcheng (#17) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanxi Zhongyu will play on the road against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou.
