Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Bayi Fubang (12-9) and Liaoning Hunters (10-11), which took place in Yingkou. Higher ranked Bayi Fubang lost to tenth ranked Liaoning Hunters in a road game 92-99 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayi Fubang. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 29-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bayi Fubang was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Anthony Myles (208-82, college: Xavier) contributed with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. International forward Lei Wang (203-86) replied with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) added 22 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bayi Fubang. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liaoning Hunters moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Loser Bayi Fubang dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Liaoning Hunters will face Shanghai Sharks (#13) at home in the next round. Bayi Fubang will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#4) in Nanjing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
