Higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (12-9) fell to fourteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (8-13) in overtime by six points 100-106. The game took place in Nanjing. But the guests from Changchun were better at the end. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 33-21 Jiangsu Dragons' run in the last quarter tied the game, leading to overtime which they eventually won 14-8. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 48. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. The other American import swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) chipped in 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard XueFeng Hu (185-80) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals and French power forward Jerome Moiso (208-78, college: UCLA) added 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Five Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Shanghai and Qingdao DS. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Jilin Tigers will have a break next round. Jiangsu Dragons will play at home against Bayi Fubang (#6) in Ningbo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
