Sixteenth-ranked Lobe Huesca (6-16) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Caceres 2016 (15-7) on Friday. Caceres 2016 managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Lobe Huesca was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Caceres 2016 made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Guard Carlos Cherry (184-79) scored 24 points, 8 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Ryan Humphrey (203-79, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Caceres 2016's coach Gustavo Aranzana used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Caceres 2016 and five Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Caceres 2016 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Leon. Newly promoted Lobe Huesca dropped to the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Caceres 2016 will face Melilla Baloncesto (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lobe Huesca will play against Grupo Iruna Navarra (#10) in Pamplona.
