Everything went according to plan when second ranked CB Murcia (19-3) beat at home 7th ranked Melilla Baloncesto (11-11) 77-73 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 49-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Nigerian-American guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian-Italian forward Juan Ignacio Jasen (196-85) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four CB Murcia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) responded with 16 points and the former international center Juan Ignacio Romero (211-73) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Murcia have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Obradoiro. Loser Melilla Baloncesto dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. CB Murcia will face Baloncesto Leon (#5) on the road in the next round. Melilla Baloncesto will play against Caceres 2016 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
