Regular Season Round 24: Tarvas - TTU 70-101
Date: February 11, 2011
The game between Top Four teams took place in Rakvere. One of their biggest challengers host BC Rakvere (12-12) was smashed by third ranked TTU/Kalev (16-5) 101-70. The game was mostly controlled by TTU/Kalev. BC Rakvere was better in second period 31-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TTU/Kalev dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to BC Rakvere's 38 and made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded BC Rakvere 42-31 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. BC Rakvere was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American-DR Congolese forward Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) who scored that evening 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and Canadian guard Casey Archibald (195-84, agency: R.H.Consultancy) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five TTU/Kalev players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by American guard Matthew Hall (191-86, college: Stonehill) did not help to save the game for BC Rakvere. Canadian-Jamaican forward Richard Anderson (199-77, college: Simon Fraser) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TTU/Kalev have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-5 record having seven points less than leader TU/Rock. BC Rakvere at the other side keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
