The game in Barcellona was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Immobiliare SR (12-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Sigma Barcellona (13-7). Sigma Barcellona managed to secure a 7-point victory 84-77 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20. But Immobiliare SR won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sigma Barcellona forced 21 Immobiliare SR turnovers. Strangely Immobiliare SR outrebounded Sigma Barcellona 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Joseph Crispin (186-79, college: Penn St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 29 points, 9 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). The former international swingman Andrea Ghiacci (200-81) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Sigma Barcellona's coach Cesare Pancotto allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Demian Filloy (198-82, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American swingman Terrence Roderick (195-88, college: UAB, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sigma Barcellona moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sunrise Scafati. Loser Immobiliare SR dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Sigma Barcellona will meet at home Trenkwalder RE (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Immobiliare SR will play against Tezenis Verona (#13) and hope to secure a win.
