Regular Season Round 24: Tln Kalev - Kalev/Cramo 66-75

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#2) and TTU/Kalev II (#7). TTU/Kalev II was defeated at home 66-75 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 44-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kalev/Cramo outrebounded TTU/Kalev II 45-30 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by TTU/Kalev II helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Rait Keerles (201-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Kristjan Kitsing (201-90) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. Kalev/Cramo's coach Aivar Kuusmaa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Kiur Akenparg (190-88) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Kalev/Cramo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-3 record having just -1 point less than leader TU/Rock. TTU/Kalev II at the other side keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. Kalev/Cramo are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Voru KK (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TTU/Kalev II will play against the league's leader TU/Rock in Tartu and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
