Regular Season Round 22: Roche - Le Puy 77-101

There was no surprise when 17th ranked Roche (5-17) was crushed at home by thirteenth ranked Le Puy ASMB (10-12) 101-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Puy ASMB. Roche was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Roche 35-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. Guard Damien Pistre (190-83) fired 19 points for the winners. Center Cyril Guillarme (206-84) chipped in 19 points. Le Puy ASMB's coach Olivier Hirsch felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Francisco Bateko (185-84, college: Robert Morris) produced 17 points and forward Benjamin Boutry (198-80) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Four Le Puy ASMB and five Roche players scored in double figures. Le Puy ASMB moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Souffel. Newly promoted Roche keeps the seventeenth position with 17 games lost. Le Puy ASMB will face higher ranked Vendee Challans (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Roche will play against Sorgues (#5).
