Regular Season Round 22: Beijing Ducks - Guangdong ST 95-97

The most exciting game of round 22 in the CBA took place in Beijing. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Beijing Ducks (12-9) to third ranked Guandong Tigers (15-6) 97-95 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-23 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guandong Tigers made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Marcus Haislip (207-80, college: Tennessee) contributed with 26 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. Power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and swingman Joe Crawford (196-86, college: Kentucky, agency: Priority Sports) added 23 points in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Guandong Tigers maintains third position with 15-6 record having three points less than leader Xinjiang. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons in Nanjing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
