Important game to mention about took place in Kouvola. Fifth ranked Espoo Honka (20-12) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Kouvot (18-16) 94-91 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kouvot. It looked good early as Kouvot took an 20-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Espoo Honka took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. They outrebounded Kouvot 37-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The other American import center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Josh Gonner (188-82, college: S.Carolina) replied with 25 points and the former international forward Ville Kaunisto (204-82) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kouvot. Four Espoo Honka and five Kouvot players scored in double figures. Espoo Honka have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 20-12 record. Kouvot at the other side keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. Espoo Honka will play against LrNMKY (#11) in Lappeenranta in the next round where they are favorite. Kouvot will play at home against the league's leader Tampereen Pyrinto (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
