Second Stage Round 3: Hamar - Keflavik 86-93

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Hamar (16-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Keflavik (14-3) 93-86. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Hamar. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-86. Keflavik made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Jacquline Adamshick (183-84, college: Villanova) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds for the winners and forward Eva Guamundsdottir (172-94) chipped in 25 points and 6 assists. American forward Jaleesa Butler (183-87, college: Georgetown) responded with a triple-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 blocks and the former international forward Kristrun Sigurjonsdottir (178-85) scored 19 points. Keflavik have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record having just two points less than leader Hamar. Hamar at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face KR (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hamar will play on the road against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and is hoping to win this game.
