Very expected game when 9th ranked Landstede (6-21) lost to fourth ranked Magixx (18-9) in Nijmegen 66-78. The game was mostly controlled by Magixx. Landstede was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Magixx dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Landstede's 34. It was a great evening for American forward Geoff McDermott (203-87, college: Providence, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Nick Oudendag (210-87) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Magixx players scored in double figures. Magixx's coach Michael Schuurs allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Nate Rohnert (196-87, college: Denver) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Matthew Mullery (203-87, college: Brown, agency: Stanley International) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Magixx. They maintain fourth place with 18-9 record. Landstede lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 21 games lost. Magixx will play against league's second-placed ZZ Leiden at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Landstede will play against BS Weert (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
